Description
Independence Academy Charter School is seeking a reliable, organized, and self-directed Event Center Manager to oversee the scheduling, coordination, and general upkeep of the IACS Event Center. This position supports school events, approved activity field trips, and outside facility rentals while ensuring the Event Center remains clean, functional, and welcoming. The Event Center Manager works independently, collaborates closely with school administration and maintenance staff, and supports the overall operations and mission of the school.
Major Responsibilities and Duties
The Event Center Coordinator ensures smooth day-to-day operations of the Event Center and related activities. The Event Center Coordinator will:
• Maintain an accurate and up-to-date events calendar for the Event Center
• Coordinate scheduling of all approved school events and activity field trips
• Receive and manage requests for Event Center space and assist approved outside renters in navigating general facility use requirements
• Be present at scheduled events to secure and clean the facility following events, unless excused by the Athletic Director
• Ensure the Event Center is clean, well maintained, and in good working order
• Coordinate with school maintenance staff to address repairs and facility needs
• Maintain electronic marquee messaging, signage, and assist with displays as needed
• Schedule district bus transportation and activity vans for approved field trips
• Confirm reservations and process payments when required
• Coordinate maintenance and upkeep of school activity vans
• Support activities calendar planning and school-wide events
• Perform additional duties as assigned; this description is not intended to be an exhaustive list of responsibilities
Leadership and Professional Growth
The Event Center Manager will:
• Demonstrate initiative and professionalism in managing Event Center operations
• Collaborate with administration and staff to support school programs and events
• Have opportunities to learn theater technology, including lighting and sound systems
• Be eligible for additional compensation for operating theater technical equipment during events as needed

Requirements
Qualifications
• High school diploma required
• Ability to pass a background check and drug screening
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Effective written, verbal, and technology-based communication skills
• Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
• Ability to work independently with minimal daily supervision
• Demonstrated pride in quality work and attention to detail
• Be willing to work a modified schedule that includes evenings and occasional weekends
