Requirements
Major Responsibilities and Duties
The Speech-Language Pathologist provides direct and indirect services to support students’ communication needs. The SLP will:
• Provide speech and language therapy services to students in accordance with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and Colorado state guidelines
• Assess, identify, and diagnose speech, language, voice, fluency, and pragmatic communication needs
• Develop, implement, and monitor IEP goals aligned to students’ academic, social, and functional needs
• Deliver services using a variety of service models, including push-in, pull-out, small group, and classroom-based support
• Collaborate with general education teachers to support language development, comprehension, expressive language, and communication skills within the classroom
• Support students’ language and communication skills as they relate to literacy, learning, and social interaction
• Use data to monitor student progress and adjust interventions as needed
• Integrate assistive technology and communication supports when appropriate
• Participate in IEP meetings, evaluations, and multidisciplinary team discussions
• Communicate regularly and professionally with families regarding student progress and needs

Leadership and Professional Growth
The Speech-Language Pathologist will:
• Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and administrators to support inclusive practices
• Apply current research and evidence-based practices in speech-language pathology
• Participate in professional development related to communication disorders, inclusive practices, and student support
• Contribute to problem-solving and intervention planning within a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) framework
• Support school-wide efforts to improve student access, engagement, and communication

Qualifications
• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
• Current Colorado Department of Education (CDE) Special Services Provider License or ability to obtain
• ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred
• Strong knowledge of speech and language development and disorders in school-aged children
• Experience or interest in school-based service delivery and inclusive practices
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
• Strong written, verbal, and technology-based documentation and communication skills
