Position Summary:
A paraprofessional, under general supervision, provides assistance to a classroom teacher, performing a variety of tasks relating to the physical and instructional needs of students in a classroom setting; assists in the implementation of instructional programs, including self-help and behavior management as well as instruction.

Requirements
Qualifications
High school diploma. Ability to obtain First aid and CPR certified, sub certification, and willingness to be trained in reading assessments, and expand professional development around social, emotional and instructional strategies.
Description of Responsibilities
● Work closely with classroom teachers to implement targeted interventions and enrichment in a small group setting.
● Progress monitor students and keep detailed anecdotal notes to help the classroom teacher determine next steps.
● Meet weekly with classroom teachers to collaborate on student learning and responsive teaching.
● Participate in ongoing professional development in reading assessment, critical questioning, and social-emotional development.
● Active supervision of students during lunch and recess.
