Math Teacher General Job Description
Under the general supervision of the School Principal, plan and organize instruction in ways that maximize student learning, employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies to communicate subject matter to students including strategies to meet diverse student needs. Candidates must demonstrate a knowledge of Math instruction as well as the ability to incorporate project-based learning and Art Integration instructional practices.
Essential Functions
• Develops appropriate Math Curriculum for students in grades 6-8.
• Teaches knowledge and understanding Math based professional organizations, workshops or professional meetings, or by conducting research.
• Maintains a system for accurate and complete record-keeping, grading, and reporting for all student activities, achievement and attendance as required by district procedures and applicable laws.
• Encourages parental involvement in students’ education and ensures effective communication with students and parents.
• Ensures that student conduct conform to the school’s standards and school district policies, and establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom.
• Meets with other professional staff members, especially within the Art Integration or CREATE Program and participates in faculty meetings and committees.
• Selects and requisitions appropriate instructional aids and other supplies and equipment and maintains inventory records in accordance with School Policies and Procedures.

• Wage range $46,000 - $60,000 depending on year of experience, additional $2,000 for Master’s degree.

Qualifications
• A Bachelor’s degree and have or be able to obtain a Colorado teaching License
• Deep knowledge of content standards, effective instructional strategies, and assessment driven
instruction.
• Highly effective communication, listening, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
• Effective written, verbal, and technology-based communication skills.
In addition to the tasks outlined above, it is the responsibility of the teacher to:
• Understand and support IAC’s mission and philosophy and to promote a positive image of the
school.
• Contribute to a harmonious school atmosphere by working cooperatively with all colleagues.
