Independence Academy Charter School is offering a unique opportunity for the Pre-school Paraprofessional position. We want a dedicated person to help lead our preschool to the next level. The preschool paraprofessional is responsible for assisting our Pre K teachers with the day-to-day education of our Pre-K students, while supporting our mission to enhance learning and development for each child.

Other skills required are a positive can-do attitude, self-motivated, desire for self-improvement, committed, goal oriented and team player mentality. You must also be an outstanding communicator, relationship-builder, and mentor to everyone around you.

Core Responsibilities:

• Understand - Local and state licensing regulations, compliance, and procedures.
• Actively develops and maintains positive staff relationships and parent partnerships and manages all resources effectively
• Establishes and maintains respectful working relationships with state licensing authorities
• Follows and enforces all rules and regulations pertaining to the health, safety, and care of children
• Maintains a professional personal appearance, attitude, and work behavior at all times

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS
• Must participate in 15 hours of professional development a year
• Classroom teaching experience in an accredited early childhood facility, or certification a plus
• Pleasant/friendly demeanor and an outgoing personality
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
• Excellent communication, customer service, and problem solving skills, including the ability to maintain composure under stress
• Strong organization skills, able to multi-task, and can manage time to meet frequently changing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Highly professional and dependable
• Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and the internet
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations
• First aid and CPR certification
