Please edit and complete your hand written essay to your new teacher. Send me a photograph of your essay, or turn it in to school on the day you collect your things from IACS - Tuesday, May 19th.

Today you will start to PLAN a piece of writing that I would like to pass on to your 4th grade teacher. I would like you to write about your last quarter of schooling - from home. Tell your next teacher what it has been like to learn from home, what you enjoyed, what you missed about being at class and in school, and what you hope for next School year in 4th Grade.

Next week you will be able to hand write your essay and take a picture of it to send to me, or turn it in to me when you pick up your belongings. I will also read them of course, before handing them on to your new teacher. Next week you also have the chance to complete any assignments that you may not have turned in yet.

Today you will start some work on Perimeter - the measurement of the outside edge of a shape.

2. Think about what kind of poem you will write. Try some ideas on a sheet of paper first ten write your poem.
You may use one of the Word sheets attached if you want to try to write a Cinquain or Diamante poem. Look at the instruction sheet to write a Cinquain, or a Diamante poem if you want to do this.
3. Open a new Google Doc. It is YOUR CHOICE which kind of poem you want to write - Have fun and turn in your poem when you have finished it.

Today you will practice using different forms of a word in sentences. To prepare you for your work tomorrow, read your assignment in Readworks - Let's write a Poem.
2. Read the vocabulary explanations before you try the sentences in the questions.

Today we will start looking at some poetry. Here are some BIKE poems for you to read and enjoy.
When you have read them, please complete the sentences on the google doc - Bike Poems response sheet. Once you have said something about each poem, please turn in your work.

Today I would like you to practice equivalent fraction on Dreambox. There are 3 different areas of Fractions for you to practice today. Look for the Notebook icon with the blue star. Practice different fractions skills until you feel confident.

Today you are going to try and add your own verse to a poem. Read the Poem in the attached Word document.
Notice the patterns in this poem
- Each verse has 3 lines.
- Each verse starts the same way.
- The 2nd line of the verse names something that could be in or on the ocean.
- The 3rd line of each verse describes what the thing is doing.
Follow the instructions at the end of the poem and try to write your own verse to add to the poem, using the same style, on a google document . Share it with me and turn it in please.
When you are finished writing your own verse, go to Big Universe assignments and read some more poems in 'A Child's Garden of Verses' and 'What's for Dinner'. Which one is your favorite? Practice reading it aloud.
Remember to finish Spelling City tests for this week too.

Sign into Spelling City and practice your new words for this week. Remember that the last assignments are the tests which you can do when you have completed the practices. You have all week to complete these so do a few each day.

2. Using your brainstorm planning from yesterday, write your first draft of a Fairytale. Check my comments from yesterday to see if you need to adjust anything. Your story must have fairytale elements.

1. Read your first draft of your fairy tale to yourself and edit it - Look for good sentences and punctuation. Can you make any or your sentences more detailed to give your reader a good picture? Do you have a beginning, a middle and an end paragraph?
2. Read your fairytale to a family member or friend, and edit or improve your story for a last time.
3. Turn in your completed, Final Draft of your fairytale (Google Doc).
4. Spelling City – continue and complete test activities.
