How to Write a Research Paper - Lesson 4: Writing your First (Rough) Draft

For this lesson, you will be working on writing your first draft of your research paper. Instructions are as follows:
1. Watch the video for this lesson here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qfuWM897mjI
- You should have already completed your Graphic Organizer and KWL Chart. These will help you write your research paper.
2. To start, open this assignment by clicking on "View Assignment" below. Then, click on "+ Add or Create", and select "Docs". This is where you will write your rough draft. Use all of the information you learned (and put on your Graphic Organizer and KWL Chart,) to write about your animal. You need to have at least two paragraphs with five sentences in each paragraph. You will need to include the following information in your research paper:
 Introduction (What animal are you writing about?)
 Appearance (What does your animal look like?)
 Habitat (Where does your animal live? Where in the world does your animal live?)
 Diet (What does your animal eat? Is your animal a consumer, producer or decomposer?)
 Behavior (What does your animal do?)
 Interesting facts (What is weird or interesting about your animal?)
3. After you have finished writing your first (rough) draft, check to make sure you have two paragraphs. Remember, a paragraph has five sentences. So, you will need at least 10 sentences. This does not mean that you put numbers to show each sentence. Instead, remember that all sentences should have a capital letter at the beginning and an ending mark at the end.
